Consecration- Prepared For service

Ok yall I dont have much time so lets get straight into it.I just want to say youre going to have to work through this be prepared to pause and rewind and probably even get your bible and study this one. Remember this will be written at the basic christian.com in blog format for you!

So, I was reading leviticus and I realized that God kept talking about Consecration. He gave instruction for Israel to consecrate themselves and Aaron and his sons had to be consecrated for their ministry which was to work in the temple.  

Lets get straight to the Hebrew consecration is the word Qāḏaš Strongs H6942 which means to consecrate, sanctify, prepare, dedicate, be hallowed, be holy, be sanctified, be separate

I realize I’m at a place in life where God is causing me to consecrate myself to him. In order to move into what he has for me I have to be dedicated to him and him alone. Not to the algorithm, not to the tv screen, not to my job.. It has to be Jesus… 

As I was working through the text in Leviticus God started dealing with me about Israel and the book of Exodus. He reminded me of when Israel was in Egypt they were submitted to an evil authority which was pharaoh, but God wanted them free.

Israel’s job was to make bricks for building and Pharaoh gave them a quota. When Moses met with Pharaoh he was trying to get pharoah to let Israel go. But like a weirdo he got angry and took Israel’s straw. Not only did he take their straw but he raised their brick quota so they had to produce more with less resources. 

Has anyone ever taken from you and then asked you why you don’t have enough?

Imagine the mindset that was developed in Israel. Rushing in your own strength every day without enough resources to meet an unreasonable goal. There was no peace, there were only deadlines, rushing, anxiety, depression, stress, and lack. 

If you’re living your life like that God wants to set you free. I know he does because he did it for me. I know what multiple jobs that don’t pay the bills look like. God doesn’t want that for you! He owns the cattle on 1000 hills, get with God and work out your salvation!

But eventually Israel was freed, they crossed the red sea and in the wilderness we see God becoming the cloud by day and fire by night, teaching Israel how to follow him and flow with him. What happened was that God wanted to work Egypt out of Israel, so in the wilderness they were called to consecrate themselves.

Because God doesn’t just want you free from your circumstance he wants you free from your mindset too.

Side note Ladies I don’t know why but the Lord is leading me to talk about this. Speaking of free minds, I want to take a moment to free y’all. My ministry’s sole purpose is to take the things of God and make them simple and consumable so let me free yall with this. Like I said God wants you free not just in your physical but also in your mental. That manosphere crap floating around is wrong in many ways. Nowadays men like to call themselves the prize but they clearly don’t know what God said. When a man finds a wife he finds a good thing and obtains favor from the lord. There are certain things about a man’s destiny that God won’t unlock until they have their covenant wife… 

So Jesus sent me with a Rhema word the Lord says, I say who the prize is.

Don’t devalue yourselves!

Ok now back to the story, Israel was in the wilderness, and wouldn’t stop complaining and grumbling against God. So God allowed an entire generation to die off in the wilderness because they refused to consecrate themselves to him, they refused to come into agreement with him. One thing I know about God is that he won’t drag you into your promise. We see that God raised an entirely new generation to receive the promise because the old folks wouldn’t dedicate themselves to the Lord.

They were more dedicated to the discomfort of slavery than the freedom of the promise. Don’t let your lack of consecration keep you from your promised land. Don’t cause God to raise up someone else who will do what he’s called you to because of your desire for a worldly life, consecration can be uncomfortable but, I refuse to give up my promise. 

Repeat after me.. NO ONE ELSE IS GETTING WHAT GOD HAS FOR ME!

I had a conversation recently where someone said that I would miss what God had for me and I don’t think that person even realized the spiritual implications of that statement. But, I had been praying that God would give me a new fire for him and this ministry and I’m here to let you know the enemy will use whatever and whoever to cause you to be offended and get knocked off track. Just ask Eve, the enemy wants to talk you out of what God said!

I ended that conversation quickly but the old me would have submitted to the thought that I would miss what God had for me if I didn’t act right. But here’s the thing when you’re submitted, God’s favor chases you down. When you’re constantly on your knees in prayer and sitting at God’s feet, God’s favor starts running after you! 

His favor wants to find you!

So after I had that conversation I sat back and thought about why I was led to deal with it so severely and God gave me a vision…I was walking with Israel through the red sea and I stepped on a rock and rolled my ankle… and you know when you hurt your foot other parts of your body can be injured. 

God was showing me that It must have been when he was delivering me, it must have been one of those rocks in the red sea, I must have stepped wrong or something because he also reminded me of that movie 300 when Xeres told Leonidas to kneel, and what was his response? I can’t remember exactly but as Leonidas was slapping his knee He said something sarcastic like, 

“I’d love to kneel, but I have a crick in my knee and it no longer bends for the wrong king.”

God said I was free and I was his!

Speaking of the wrong King as it relates to Consecration the Holy Spirit reminded me of 1 Kings 18:4 the bible says:

While Jezebel was killing off the Lord’s prophets, Obadiah had taken a hundred prophets and hidden them in two caves, fifty in each, and had supplied them with food and water.

Jezebel was killing the prophets but Obadiah hid them. As he hid them in a cave he gave them bread and water. The bread is the word and the water is the spirit. God teaches us how to be fully dependent on him before our time comes to fully walk with him in ministry so the work of our hands will last. He wants what he gives us to go beyond us. God will isolate us so he can free us and teach us to be fully dependent on him. 

Just like Jezebel, the enemy will come at you forgetting who you serve and I don’t know about you but I’ve got more David in me than I have Ahab. Jesus works through us and his spirit is in us, so even if we get up on that cross and the spear goes in our side, eventually we’re gonna stand up. The bible says Greater is he who lives in me than he who is in the world. We were crucified with Christ and with Christ we rise.

Ok let’s get back to Israel again, I told yall you’d have to track with me. I didn’t come up with this the Holy Spirit did so if you don’t like it go talk to him. God had Israel walk about a 3 day journey for 40 years and you’re telling me that there was no point where God gave them a glimpse of the promised land? They never came close? Not even once? They had to have seen a mountain top far off in the distance, a wide open space, a bird or animal that wandered too far from the promised land.. Nothing?

We dont serve the God of nothing.. he gave them the opportunity to glimpse into the promised land by sending spys in.

Because God will let you peek into the promise if you spend enough time seeking him. God will give you exactly what you need to keep going. But somehow Israel missed the clues and they stayed grumbling and losing hope in the wilderness. 

The thing about me is once I have a vision of what God is doing, I run into it. The problem is sometimes I get ahead of him which may be worse than not moving at all. So he’s teaching me to slow down and flow with him. 

Sometimes God will give you a glimpse of the future to encourage you and reveal what’s in you that he needs to work out. But thank you Jesus because the cake been baked, the set up happened, the fire has started, and I don’t know who the devil thought he was coming for but I heard God say, this ain’t the old you. 

There’s somebody out there that has a work in their hand that came from God and you caught a glimpse of the future and God is showing you what he’s about to do, but you’re not consecrated. You still have mindsets and old positions and roadblocks to work through with him.

So I’ll ask you, what has God given you a glimpse of that you’re still grumbling about Israel? Jesus knows what’s in you, that’s why He’s showing it to you, that’s why he put it in your hands, because he knows you’re the one.

You’re the one who will build businesses, you’re the one who will be the lender, you’re the one who’s called to be a mother to nations, you’re the one called to break the curse.. 

YOU ARE THE ONE!

He’s just waiting for you to get up and consecrate yourself so you can run again! God has no desire to keep you out of the promised land!

Repeat after me, All I need is a glimpse Leave a comment:  all I need is a glimpse!

Jesus makes us holy, Jesus sanctifies us, but consecration is our job. In Leviticus God constantly reminded Israel and the priests to consecrate themselves to the Lord and God tells us over and over that he will sanctify us. 

In Leviticus God pairs the two together. Leviticus 20:7-8 the bible says:

Consecrate yourselves therefore, and be holy, for I am the Lord your God. And you shall keep My statutes, and perform them: I am the Lordwho sanctifies you.

To be sanctified means to be made holy. If you want to be consecrated you need to be sanctified. God pairs the two together for a reason. Because God is holy we need to be made holy in order to be fully devoted to him. 

You cannot be devoted to a God that you don’t know!

Thankfully Jesus died to know you and If you feel like you’re being called, if you believe that now if your time put your hands up in surrender pray this prayer.

Lord Jesus, I repent of my sins and surrender my life. Wash me clean. I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. That he died on the cross for my sins and rose again on the third day for my Victory, I believe that in my heart and make confession with my mouth, that Jesus is my Savior and Lord. I receive eternal life, in Jesus name, Amen. 

If you prayed that congratulations your eternity just changed.

The walk of salvation is a walk where God sanctifies us through Christ’s finished work at the cross and its our responsibility to consecrate ourselves everyday by picking up our cross and following Jesus choosing to die to ourselves because he died for us!

As Christians, we must live consecrated lives. Consecration isn’t just a moment, it’s an ongoing walk with Christ dying to ourselves and our own comforts, and picking up our crosses everyday, living a life that is fully devoted to Jesus.

Daily consecration teaches us to recognize who God is not just what he can do.

So remember, when offense comes, that’s ok I’m devoted. When anger comes, that’s ok I’m devoted. When someone does you wrong and you get your chance to RIGHTFULLY react the way the world does tell them IT’S OK I’M DEVOTED!

The bible says in 1 Corinthians 10:31

So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God. 

if It’s not for his glory is worthless…
