Boundary 1: Who do you Trust?

If I’m honest, I don’t trust God enough. I tend to trust what I see, more than what I know. We have to train ourselves to have faith. It’s like a muscle the more you exercise your faith muscle, the larger it grows and the more capacity it can handle.

Sometimes we know exactly what God has called us to do but somehow, we allow others to convince us to stray from God’s plan. They don’t believe our calling because what they know about us does not align with what God told us to do. One of the greatest quotes I’ve ever heard was:

“Stop asking blind people to proofread your vision!” -Unknown

We get glimpses of what God created us to bring forth and it always requires trust in God and his abilities, not just our own. I didn’t graduate college and I don’t have any experience writing professionally, yet here I am running a blog because God said so. Too often we allow the instruction of others to override God’s direction for our lives.

Jesus lived a life that was so deeply led by God that sometimes his rejection of others seemed harsh. But when you’re going to complete a GOD MISSION, you have to be confident and unshakeable. Jesus never swayed and could not be convinced to do anything other than what God instructed. Jesus never trusted people more than he trusted God.

But Jesus would not entrust himself to them, for he knew all people. He did not need any testimony about mankind for he knew what was in each person. John 2: 24-25

Jesus predicted his death. When his disciple Peter took Jesus aside and began to rebuke him, “never Lord, this shall never happen to you!”. Jesus then turned and said to Peter “get behind me satan you are a stumbling block to me, you do not have in mind the concerns of God but merely human concerns”.  Matthew 16:21-22,

Peter was concerned for Jesus’s well-being. On the other hand, Jesus was solely concerned with accomplishing God’s plan. Though Peter had good intentions, where would we be if Peter would have had his way?

Peter loved Jesus and had good intentions for him but, those good intentions would have interrupted God’s plan for humanity’s salvation!

Jesus never let the people around him interrupt the goal God tasked him with.

What happens when the task God gave you doesn’t align with what others expect of you?

Rejecting the views of those who love us in order to follow God is one of the most difficult things we may ever do. We have to decide to stand on God’s word and trust in his plan. We serve a God who will ask us to step out of a boat and walk on water. It seems impossible until we understand that we serve a God who controls the laws of both gravity and buoyancy with his word.
